Trail description

The usual issue for riders living in capital cities is the lack of nearby trails, where they could ride without using a car or a public transportation. That doesn't apply for Helsinki! The Central Park is only about 3km from the city centre and there are trails around 13km long with many different options, which can make your ride even longer. Moreover, only 3 more kilometers from the switchback in Maunula and you'll get to Paloheinä Trail Centre with lovely DH trails!

Majority of the Central Park is available for mountain biking and where not, there will be a sign informing you about the ban. The area is full of amazing natural trails with many technically difficult features, so you'll be definitely better off with a full-suspension bike. If you're brave enough to ride here on a hardtail, make sure you have a dropper seatpost at the very least, because you'll need it. There are few massive rock rolls, where you simply need to get all your body weight behind the bike or you go OTB.

There's a cosy outdoors hut in Maunula in the middle part of Central Park where you turn around and go back South. You can buy some snacks and coffee there, but also visit their sauna on Wednesdays.
